The Different Colors of Mold in your Los Angeles Home

Most people think of mold as having only two colors – green and black. Mold actually comes in a variety of colors and knowing that can help you. Ignoring mold because you mistake its color for something other than what it is can allow it to grow and fester. Here are a few other colors you can be on the lookout for.
Brown or gray mold skulks around mostly outside your home. It can cling to bushes and shrubbery and blend right in, therefore going unnoticed. Blue or white mold is usually found on foods like cheese and can cause a nasty allergic reaction in addition to its ick factor. Pink mold frequently hides out in bathrooms. It can cling to fixtures and cause discoloration and can even be found in the residue from shampoo bottles.
Walk through your home and take a good look around. Eliminate any sources of these colored molds and you’re well on your way to mold-proofing your home.
