How Water Travels to Your Home

Having running water at home it’s one of those things we don’t stop to appreciate enough. Sure, opening up your tap and getting water it’s great, but do you really know how water travels through your home to make that possible?
Believe it or not, understanding the plumbing system that goes through your house and how those pipes work is actually easier than you think. If you didn’t know it by now, here’s how water gets through your house every day:
- The main line: This water line is connected to the city’s main pipes, that’s where you get all your water from.
- The Waterline: This is a huge pipe that takes the water from the main line directly to your home. It’s usually buried very deep on the ground, and you’ll never see it.
- The Inside pipes: Once the water is in your home, it gets split into two main pipes, one for the cold water, and the other for the hot water. They both go through your pipelines into your sink, shower, bath and more, but only the hot water lines go through your water heater.
It is easy to overlook the many things that make our lives easier, however, it is always nice to be able to appreciate these once in a while!
