Believe it or not, not all the mold you see is bad for you. Actually, mold is pretty much everywhere around you, both in your house and outside of it, you just don’t really notice it.
And although there are some types of mold (Like black mold) that are full of bacteria and can be very bad for you and your home, most of it is pretty much harmless. You just have to learn how to differentiate between them.
- OK mold: These are the kind you can find outside your home, that is pretty much everywhere. Then there’s the kind used in medicine and in some foods (like cheese!). And last, but not least, there’s regular mold growth, because yes, mold grows in your house (in your shower, windows, sink...)While you should not be too worried about this type of mold, it is important to capture it early before it grows into something more dangerous!
- Bad mold: Also known as black mold, this is the kind that grows in places that are the perfect environment for mold growth like wood floors, wood products, and even walls. This kind of mold spreads bacteria through the air, making it extremely dangerous. This type of mold can form extremely quickly, so being proactive is very important!
Mold shouldn't be scary! However, unless a professional is involved, you should not underestimate the power of mold!
